Collection: Rooibos Tea
Rooibos is grown in South Africa and is actually in the legume family rather than actual tea. Depending on its processing Rooibos is either red (most common) or green. The antioxident level of Rooibos is very high, particularly in the antioxidants aspalathin and quercetin. Rooibos is also naturally caffeine free; therefore, making it an excellent choice for late afternoon and evening.
Some of the terms used to describe Rooibos tea have been: smoky, sweet, woody, grassy, vanilla, floral, honey, herbal and caramel. It is very versatile and blends well with other herbs, flowers and flavors. We carry a variety of Rooibos blends and there is usually something to satisfy everyone. Our Golden Cinnamon Rooibos has the spiciness of the cinnamon and some sweetness from dried apricot. Another favorite is Lady Rooibos which is a blend of citrus, coconut and ginger.
